Starting a Blog is Slow as Molasses

I am having a hard time getting started. Why? Because I can’t figure out this darned Word Press. It’s supposed to be easy. I am even pretty tech-savvy. Even still, I can’t keep track of all the links on the navigation panel to the left… What controls what?

I’ve been thinking about what to write, playing with all the links in Word Press (still not sure about all the widgets, gidgets, etc.), reading other blogs, and procrastinating for the last few months. I’m so semi-comfortable with this now.

After only 8 months of thinking (not including the thoughts, contemplation and prep work started 6, 4, and 2 years ago) and preparing for this, I’m throwing caution to the wind. I’m going hog-wild. I’m going to give it a go and just type. Hopefully with time, I’ll figure out how to make it look pretty.

Mystarting a blog process” is actually the same process I use as a nurse. I see that now. I look at daily life the same way I do a hospital room. Gather EVERYTHING needed BEFORE entering, because …. how much does it stink to have to de-gown and de-glove in the middle of a task when you forget one item? I like to be prepared for every scenario.

The path to going live has been very introspective. A fear that the idea of me blogging may seem ridiculous to others and the imagination of people laughing at me, haunts me (and contributes to my procrastination). And yet, here I am. I’ve become okay with this. Time to get started!
