Welcome to The Nurse In Red. This site was imagined after working several late night shifts, coming home, and having no one to debrief with. (It’s currently 1:40am.) Being a nurse is challenging. We accomplish tasks most people cringe at the thought of. When you’ve worked 8 or 12+ hours doing things that would turn most normal people’s stomachs, you kind of need to talk about it before you can relax and go to sleep. On the other hand, my husband needs his beauty rest. He won’t wait up to listen and if I were to always turn to a glass of wine, well…..
So, Here’s to Us. Here’s to nurses everywhere who may need an ear to bend, who may want to get some things off their chest, or at the very least can’t fall asleep when they get home. With these experiences, I imagine there will also be advice. So watch out for some tips and tricks to get you through the day.
I am not professing to an expert and my advice may not be applicable in every situation. Please use your nursing judgement. I also like privacy and anonymity here. Please protect personal health info (HIPAA) at all times, and never include real names, dates or places. Info should be changed to protect the innocent. I am really excited to get started!
